Smokeys

Parents
The smokey line is from this blushing chocolate I bought at a hobby
store, and crossed with this black.
F1
This cross resulted in smokeys, golds, and blacks. Here are some
pics of the smokey F1 fish.
F2
Crossing 2 of the F1 smokeys together resulted in many different
phenotypes, Smokey, chocolate, gold, silver, silver ghost, blushing
smokey, blushing chocolate, blushing gold, and german blue.
Here are some pics of some F2 offspring.
As can be seen in the last 4 photos, some of the fish are coming
through with the wide finnage the grandfather had.
Some F2 fish have paired off, I current have a pair of blushing
smokeys, which show a yellow crown. Here are photos of them.

The first photo is of the female, the second of the male.

So far, the above fish looks the most like the original
blushing chocolate. I am excited that the wide fins are showing
up, although not as many as I had hoped for. It takes a LONG time
for the width of the fins to show up. This is the same fish as the
first fish shown above in the F2
group of photos. As you can see, the fins were nowhere near
this wide when it was younger.
F3
I have a pair F3 fish (offspring from the F2 pair shown above),
the male has pretty wide fins, not quite like the original male,
but wider then most. The other, a female, is a super veil. Here
is a terrible photo of the pair, I need to get better photos soon!

As you can see, the female has quite a bit of blue in her, while
the male has a more pinky/orange cast to him. My theory is the male
carries a gold gene and the female does not. The offspring from
this pair are 50% blushing smokey and 50% chocolate blushing. No
golds in this batch at all, so at least one of the parents has no
gold gene.
F4
I am currently raising babies from the above pair. I
need to get some newer pictures of them. But here is a photo of
them taken in June.
