To the Buckleys’ at West Shokan
Get yourself to the NY Thruway (I 87).
Take Exit #19 (Kingston Exit) off I 87.
Go Right off the exit after the tolls: Route 28 West, direction Pine Hill.
Take Rte 28 approximately 16 miles (about 20 minutes) to Rte 28A at Boiceville, NY (at the bottom of a long hill).
Disregard any other Rte 28A signs. Some landmarks
approaching your turn are
Treecraft Rustic Furniture, Boiceville Inn, and Indian Trading Post (with totem poles), all on your right side.
Turn Left at Rte 28A. (If you pass the high school you have gone too far).
On Rte 28A after you have gone over 3 bridges you will see a sign saying Snyder’s Tavern on your right.
Go over 2 bridges to Watson Hollow Road, all within about ¼ mile. Turn right.
The signs will say “ Watson Hollow Rd.”, “St. Augustine Chapel” and County Route Sign #42.
(If you pass the general store, a white house, or the Olive Free Library , you have gone too far).
Turn Right on Watson Hollow Road. Go Approximately 1 mile to another bridge. Go over the bridge and bear left.
Go to the third street on your right: Moonhaw Road (just
after Bell Ln.)
Turn right on Moonhaw Rd. to the second house on the right
(about 1,000 ft from the intersection). It’s a small White House. On the tree hangs a sign “Circa 1850” . This is it!
