Investigators searching for cause of Richland fire

The investigation continues into Sunday's deadly fire in Oswego County. Eight people died in that fire in Richland. Our Bill Carey says there is no rush to issue a report on the cause.

Jones may testify if case goes to trial

The defense attorney for Alan Jones says the case against his client is weak and if it goes to trial, he might put him on the stand. Jones is charged with second degree murder for the death of his 11-year-old stepsister, Erin Maxwell. Jones was in court Tuesday for motion arguments. Andy Mattison was there as well and has more on what the defense is putting together if the case goes to trial.

State smoke detector regulations

No smoke detectors were installed in the Richland home or that of another deadly weekend fire in Herkimer County. While newly built homes and apartment buildings are required to have smoke detectors, not all older buildings are. Our Allison Lazarz explains the smoke detector requirements in New York State.
