Skins And Voices

If the server has skin and voices you need them .

Remember it easer to dl and install your self then

it is to dl from a server ..

A lot of skins and voice come as UMODS .. If you don t no what they are .

they are self installing file. Just open it and  install it .That's all there is to umods

quit simple..Should you have to type in the directory just type in

Drive letter :\Unrealtournament that's it

SKINS

   All skins you download should come with two files with these names .utx and .int

Drag the file with the .utx extension into the Textures folder which is within your

Unreal Tournament folder. Now, drag the file with the .int extension into the

System folder which is also within the Unreal Tournament folder. That's all

there is to that now you can pick the skin you want to use.....

Using Skins Online

 You will have to edit your UT sys. ini fileOpen up the UnrealTournament.ini file in the

Unreal Tournament System folder.  Once you have that open, scroll down the list until

you find the [Engine.GameEngine] heading. Under thatwill be ServerPackagesScroll

down to the lastServerPackages line and after that line add a new line like this: ServerPackages=nameofskin .........nameofskin is whatever the skin is called, like

 FCommando_xena. Yours will already have the game skins in it.

 Here's a  example of what it will look like

 ServerPackages=SoldierSkins

 ServerPackages=CommandoSkins

 ServerPackages=FCommandoSkins

 ServerPackages=SGirlSkins

 ServerPackages=BossSkins

 ServerPackages=Botpack

 ServerPackages=nameofskin <--- This is what was added

       Close and save your ini that's it your done..  If by some  chance it dose not work go back

       in your ini and check your spelling !  The spelling for your ini is important so be careful.

       If it has a capital letter u have to use a capital letter.....There are no spaces used in the

           ini file so don't use one  ServerPackages=   will always be spelled the same way..

VOICES

Voices are pretty much the same way.. Put the right files in the right folders, Then go in your Unreal Tournament system folder and add the voice to it..    YOU will add it to your ServerPackages=nameofvoiceIt will look just like the one above except it will have the

voice name on it..      And remember if it has a read me the author usually tells you what to

 put in your ini..

NOW ..if you get one that dose not have a name for your ini,, open the system  folder find the name of the file you put in and add that name to your ini with out the int at the end..

MAPS

Maps are the easiest just download them open them put the files in the right folders an your done..

One thing about custom maps  there easy to get a mismatch when playing a game.. That's because the author of the map updated it and you just happened to have the older or newer version no big deal.. If your playing on the same server all the time, and it happens , just download the other version ..

The Boss Skin

To enable the boss skin without having to beat the  game, Go to your Unreal Tournament directory, and open the "user.ini" file with Notepad, or WordPad . Backup this file before editing it. Add these two lines at the bottom of the list after leaving a space between the last line

[Botpack.Ladder]
HasBeatenGame=True

This will give you access to the Xan skin in Player Setup.

Start ut faster

To get Unreal Tournament to load faster you should open your UnrealTournament.ini. Search for the line LocalMap=CityIntro.unr change it to LocalMap=UT-Logo-Map.unr & save the changes. The game should now load faster than it currently does. Press the Esc key to bring up the Unreal Tournament GUI.

This one is even faster

And a lot better

UT-Logo-Map][

Description - If you're tired of the same UT introduction sequence everytime you start

UT, then try this map. This replaces the default UT introduction sequence with a modified

UT-Logo-Map.The best feature is that it automatically loads and starts

the menu window so that you do not have to press the Esc key. More info on download page

How to turn off everything you don't

need running in the background

when using Windows Millennium

Msconfig – Windows Millennium Edition

The Windows Me version of msconfig differs in many ways to the Windows 9x version so it will be catered for separately here. With Windows Me there comes an extremely useful System Configuration Utility. This displays programs/utilities running at Startup & gives you control over other aspects of the system itself also. Click on Start, Run, type in msconfig & hit Enter. This will load the System Configuration Utility.

In the General tab you should select Selective startup as your Startup selection & Untick the Load environmental variables setting. This will give both optimal boot time & system performance. Now select the Startup tab.

This tab displays a list of all programs that are loaded upon system startup. The items which are Ticked are actually being loaded upon Startup. To disable an item from being loaded at Startup simply Untick it. NOTE – SystemTray should be left Ticked at all times. While it’s hard to give a definitive list of what to leave Ticked & what to Untick I’ll give a few general guidelines;

1.       For System Stability you should leave the Scanreg entry (If any) Ticked, this makes backups of the System registry & should anything go wrong it will restore you system registry to a point upon which your system last booted normally.

2.       Untick Findfast. Findfast is a Microsoft a utility included with Microsoft Office applications that builds indexes to speed up finding documents from the Open dialog box in any Microsoft Office program & from Microsoft Outlook. However building these indexes can consume a lot of system resources while they are being updated & such. This feature is of little use to anyone as a result.

3.       Unticking PCHealth & *StateMgr has the same effect as disabling System Restore so do not Untick these if you want System Restore enabled. For more information on System Restore check this page, & the following page of our Windows Me Tweak guide.

4.       If you aren’t sure what an item listed is, then don’t Untick it
