This latest version of DirectX offers updated graphics, faster frame rates, and support for massively multiplayer games. It also offers more immersive audio when running and displaying programs rich in multimedia elements, such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and surround sound. If you had an earlier version of DirectX installed on your system, you will see little difference in available space on your hard drive following the installation. DirectX 8.0 will overwrite any earlier versions.

Note: After installation, the DirectX 8.0 run time cannot be uninstalled. DirectX is a system component. It cannot be uninstalled without reinstalling your operating system. For more information on DirectX, please visit the DirectX 8.0 home page.

umod Wizard is designed to make Unreal Module (*.umod) file generation as quickly and as easily as possible.

Currently, umod Wizard v1.26 has the following features. 

• Can be used with any Unreal Engine game (as long as UCC.EXE in its "System" folder)

• Create file groups.

• Add MOD requirement groups.

• Speed up requirement group creation using presets.

• Add or modify lines in INI files.

• Can choose to only generate INI and INT files, or generate the *.umod file.

• Can automatically clean up after the *.umod file has been created (i.e. remove the INI and INT files that were generated)

• Prevents the 'Installed Components' record file (Manifest.ini) from being nuked by UCC.EXE when the *.umod file is generated

WinRamTurbo optimizes the file and disk cache to allow sustained rapid access of cached data. A disk cache (also called Virtual Cache or just simply vcache in Win95/98) is important for improving hard disk performance. This is because the disk cache caches or stores data from the hard disk in the much faster RAM so that if a program requires that piece of data, it can just access the disk cache for it, instead of loading from the hard disk.
