The National Traffic System is the culmination of feasible modes in Amateur Radio and at the very center of the American Radio Relay League. The National Traffic System forms the very core of who we are as Amateur Radio operators.
Cable, phone, cell phone, and the Internet fail in an emergency because they are built upon a complex electronic infrastructure. Amateur Radio is able to step in and provide communications in these situations because our infrastructure is built upon self powered, self contained radios and the people to use them. The National Traffic System is the training ground for those people. NTS operates every single day of the year sending radiograms back and forth across the country in preparation for the day when their services are needed.
Below is a listing of National Traffic Systems Nets that operate within the Western New York Section. Questions concerning these nets should be directed to their Net Managers.
