Archery / Bowhunting
Having been a hunter all my life I think, it is only natural that I
have been challenged by the sport of archery and bowhunting.
I compete in many archery events during the year at my local
club "The Izaak Walton / Cortland Field Archers"
as well as state and national tournaments.(NY State Indoors Senior Class Champion 1999, NY Senior Games Champion several times) While hunting the
elusive white tail deer in NY state is great, I have really enjoyed hunting for
elk and mule deer in Colorado.
Snowmobiling
I also have been a snowmobiler since the early 70's. I currently
ride a 2003 Arctic Cat Firecat F7 It really handles great, in fact it's
the best snowmobile I have ever owned. I have buddies who
also enjoy the sport and we travel to places like "Tug" hill and Old
Forge, Boonville and even Quebec when the local snow isn't that
great. Of course when we get a good "winter" here the trails
are as good as anywhere.

Music
Yes that's really me ( a few years ago).
I was indeed a rocker!
I have been a rock musician for over 25 years and played with
many bands and performed with many famous groups and stars.
My music career really began in 1960 with a band called "The
Ravens". I more or less hit the big time locally in 1961 when I
joined "Ronnie and the Red Caps". We had a great band and
changed our name to "Ronnie Dio and the Prophets"
which I was with until 1968.
Ronnie of course has gone on to great fame and
now is known simply as "DIO", He is world reknown for his powerful voice and has fronted with "Black Sabbath" and "Deep Purple" also world famous groups until he formed his own group. His current tours and other DIO information can be found on the net by going to www.ronniejamesdio.com I then was a member of many
groups during the 70's and 80's such as "The Tarnished Sound",
"The Stone Fox", "Sierra", and the last group I played with "The
Essentials" was a terrific band doing rock and country. Currently playing in
a band called "Mickey Sometimes", this band is a collection of musicians
from the early days of Cortland rock history plus two other current age musicians.
We are having a ball playing 50's, 60's, 70's classic rock! Check us out on
the link for "Mickey Sometimes" at my home page.. I have a
lot of great memories and great friends from these days of "ROCK".
