COMMITTEE DESCRIPTION: TRUST COMMITTEE

COUNCIL: BUSINESS AFFAIRS
CHARGE: To manage and grow the endowment funds of First UU.

1. Encourage, accept, account for, and acknowledge gifts to the endowment funds.
2. Establish and promote a "planned giving" function for the society.
3. Create and monitor specific procedures for donations to the endowment funds.
4. Review the endowment funds at least annually and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on the investment and utilization of newly acquired endowment funds as necessary.
5. Report on the endowment funds not less than quarterly to the Board of Trustees and annually to the congregation.
6. Appoint an investment manager and communicate investment objectives, goals, guidelines and performance measurements as required.
7. Establish and monitor guidelines for the utilization of the endowment funds of the society.
8. Administer distributions from the endowment funds.

MEMBERS: Minimum of 5 including the chair of the Finance Committee. Financial and/or investment expertise is desirable but not required.
TERMS OF OFFICE: Two years minimum
MEETING SCHEDULE: Quarterly at the end of October, January, April, & July
