This is a good introductory book, easy reading.

Cunliffe, Barry. The Ancient Celts (Oxford University Press, 1997)
This is an excellent and thorough book about the Ancient Celts, and highly recommended.

Eluere, Christiane, The Celts: Conquerors of Ancient Europe (Abrams, NY, 1993)

Markale, Jean, The Celts (Inner Traditions International, VT, 1993)

Not a bad book, but towards the end he starts slipping into his own fantasies about the Celts that are not supported by the evidence.

An excellent book about the status of women in ancient Celtic society.

A very good discussion of Druids, though sometimes a bit romantic. Needs to be tempered with Piggot's book of the same name. Highly recommended, interesting reading.
