Things I Appreciate About Mom

I've come up with these three things that I remember and appreciate about Mom:
        1) Once when I was a teenager and really way too big, Mom gave me a cuddle on her lap when I was feeling particularly down and blue.  She didn't make fun of me or tell me to grow up.  She just held me as long as I needed to be held.  Physical touch is my "love language," as I know now, so that was very meaningful to me.
        2) Mom always made breakfast for us before school.  She felt it was important, and I know it was important to me.  Breakfast is still my favorite meal, and I feel particularly nurturing when I cook breakfast for my family now.
        3) Mom was always there when I came home from school.   Later, I remember Don and me being home alone after school when she was at some meeting or other.  But for by far the majority of my childhood, Mom was always home and calling to me from somewhere in the house when I walked in the door. Her being home to greet me made me feel secure.
