Land Warrior Version
Info
| Version
1.00.25 |
|

|
| Released
December 20 ,2000 |
- Made some modifications to in-game sounds, including the
commander screen sounds.
- Tournament code added for future online events
- We have added some upgrades to the NovaWorld2 multiplayer
connection system that should further increase stability
when joining games that are almost full
- Not mentioned in a previous update, knife kills are now
reflected correctly within NovaWorld player statistics
- User created missions should now save correctly
|
| Version
1.00.24 |
|

|
| Released
December 05 ,2000 |
- Save game files should now transfer during updates.
- Player will no longer be able to disable scope drift and
weapon recoil during NovaWorld multiplayer games.
- Vehicle explosions have been modified to cause damage
only during their initial explosion.
- Knife statistics are now correctly recorded on NovaWorld
2 character tracking records.
- The knife range radius was somewhat reduced for the CQB
character-type.
- A new "Terrain Geometry" feature has been added.
The default for this feature is "Normal". By turning
Terrain Geometry to "High", players will be able
to increase the level of detail of the terrain at the expense
of potentially slower game performance. Increased terrain
detail will be most noticeable when looking at the level
of detail of distant terrain.
- We have made modifications to correct problems that some
players were having with the scope feature. These problems
were related to certain video card chipsets.
- The multiplayer host setup now allows players to set the
number of kills from 1 to 500. Anything below 1 or above
500 is set to Infinite.
- New "metal footstep", "promotion",
and "statserver message" sounds have been added
to the game.
- A number of minor mission fixes have been implemented.

| Version
1.00.23 |
|

|
| Released:
November 20 ,2000 |
| Addresses issues for some players who were being
dropped from Multiplayer games. |
| Version
1.00.22 |
|

|
| Released
November 17 ,2000 |
- Disallows players to disable weapon effects like recoil,
crosshair spread, etc., regardless of the settings the
host chose.
- For players with slower, dial-up connections, we hope
you will see improved online performance as we adjust the
way DFLW uses bandwidth.
- Improves accuracy of scope adjustments and keeps
magnification from returning to default level when you
switch weapons.
- Increases burst rates for OICW and M4 carbine.
- Several hardware-related issues are also addressed in
the update.
- We're working to increase the number of games we're
hosting on NovaWorld 2. You may actually see fewer DFLW
games through the coming weekend as we transition players
from the current servers to the updated ones, but more
games are on the way. In the meantime, you can help us
with this by letting us know here in the forum what game
types you'd most like us to add. We've seen requests for
Team Deathmatch and no-tracers games; let us know what
else you would like to see.
- We'd like to thank everyone for their support of the
game and their patience as we work to improve it. We've
worked very hard to release a game people are really
enjoying -- and we're quickly addressing open issues. You
can play a vital role in that by keeping the feedback
coming.
- We're working long hours to get our login and
stat-tracking servers up and running. We appreciate your
patience, feedback, and support as we test and tune the
system. Simply put, systems that worked well during
extended pre-release testing encountered issues when hit
with an unexpectedly high load of players in the game's
first week of sales. But these issues are being addressed.

Delta
Force 2 Version Info
| Version
1.06.15 - Maintenance Update |
|

|
| Released:
March 07,
2000 |
| This
update addresses a glitch in climbing ladders, a problem with
server side chat, and an issue with weather names in the
Mission Editor. Graphic problems with female characters and
ghillie suits have been fixed. |
| Version
1.06.14 - Fixed Weapon Emplacements and More |
|

|
| Released:
March 03, 2000 |
This
latest update to Delta Force 2 enables fixed-machine
gun and grenade launcher emplacements which can be manned by
players. To use a fixed weapon, simply run up to it and you'll
take control of it.
You'll start each game with two good-sized magazines of ammo
for whatever fixed weapons are available in the mission; once
these are empty, you'll need to head to the armory and click
"Request Weapons" to get more. To disengage from a
fixed weapon and resume regular control, move backward while
turning to either side.
At the moment, fixed weapon emplacements are available in
NovaWorld games of Attack & Defend and Search &
Destroy. You'll also be able to place fixed weapons in your
own games with the Mission Editor and host them online.
The new update also makes quite a few fixes and improvements
to the game, including:
Text message macros have been added
In Capture the Flag and FlagBall games, a flag sitting
motionless for 3.5 minutes will automatically be returned to
its original location.
- Variable
scope magnification (use the "E" key to cycle
through magnification levels)
- Greatly
improved movement on ladders
- Communications
code has been refined to speed connection to NovaWorld and
improve game performance.
- The
ghillie suit bug has been fixed; soldiers wearing ghillie
suits no longer disappear at 60+ meters.

Search
and Destroy Now Available on NovaWorld
A
new game type, Search and Destroy, is now available
NovaWorld's servers. The object of this team-oriented game is
to infiltrate the other team's territory and destroy specific
targets -- before the enemy can do the same to you.
Note:
You'll need to be sure your team includes demolitions experts
carrying satchel charges to destroy enemy buildings. Enemy
vehicles may be destroyed with satchel charges or LAW rockets.
There goes the neighborhood!
New
Tournament Servers Added
A
dedicated set of new tournament servers has been added to
NovaWorld. These games will be reserved for tournament use
according to the schedule listed on the NovaWorld Web Site at
www.novaworld.com. While not in tournament use, these games
will be available as regular NovaWorld games. |

New Voice-Over-Net Feature
We're excited to introduce hands-free Voice Activation (VOX)
to Delta Force 2. You can enable VOX in the VON settings menu
screen. Now your mike is always live and the push-to-talk key
is push-to-mute.
Kill Count Fix
We've fixed a counter-rollover problem on the kill count.
The counter no longer rolls over after 255 kills.
New Network Code
We've worked on the network code to get rid of problems
caused by lost or late packets.
Screen Resolution
We have removed 1024 x 768 resolution from the menu
selection, but this option is still available for Power Users
via the config file.
Proxy Server Support
We now have limited Proxy Server support. If you're
running with a proxy server to the internet, all of your
computers should be able to play on NovaWorld. You can even
host behind a proxy server. But at this time, your additional
computers cannot join a host that is behind the same proxy
server. |

| IP
Hosting
We
are aware that some Delta Force 2 players would like the
ability to use direct IP connections for multiplayer games. We
are taking a very aggressive approach to addressing the issues
that lie at the root of requests for IP support. A slow
integrated web browser, the multiple steps required to return
to an ongoing game, and proxy server problems that keep some
players from accessing NovaWorld are issues that might be
solved by adding direct IP hosting; however, we prefer to
devote our time to finding solutions that will ultimately be
more transparent and convenient for all DF2 players than IP
hosting would be.
To
start, we're taking steps to make NovaWorld's interface faster
and easier to use. When you exit a multiplayer game, you'll
notice that Delta Force 2's browser now takes you back to
where you were in the NovaWorld lobby before the game started,
eliminating the need to spend precious gaming time surfing
back to your favorite server. We've also implemented new
NovaWorld code that decreases the time it takes to deliver
lobby information, which should make each lobby page load
faster. In addition, look for mission names to appear on
NovaWorld alongside the game names -- and let us know which
missions you particularly like. We'll be introducing more
improvements in the future.
FlagBall
and Four-Squad Games
FlagBall
and Four-Squad games, which have been available to players
hosting Public or Private games, are now part of the mix of
dedicated NovaWorld games. |
| Version
1.03.01 Update |
|

|
| Released: November 23, 1999 |
|
The
latest version of Delta Force 2 incorporates a lot of new
fixes and improvements, including:
- Waypoint
to Armory now available (in multi-player games that use
the Armory)
- Current
waypoint automatically switches to flag-bay when player
picks up an enemy flag
- Friendly
tags now default to "on" in team games
- Added
support for wheel mouse using Microsoft drivers
- "R"
key now brings up all recent messages
- Night
vision can be toggled on or off for weapons' scopes as
well as night vision goggles ("N" key)
- Voice-Over-Net
keys can now be remapped for custom configurations
- Field
surveillance camera: Select the camera and press fire
to place it where you're standing. The camera's view will
pop up in a Picture-in-Picture window (you can toggle the
window on and off with the F12 key). While the camera is
selected, moving the mouse will pan and tilt the camera's
view rather than moving your soldier. Select another
weapon, and the camera's view will stay where you've left
it; you'll be able to move anywhere on the map and still
see what the camera sees. To change the camera's view from
anywhere on the map, just select the camera again and move
the mouse. NOTE: Each player can place only one camera at
a time; if you place a second camera, the first will
disappear. We're aware of one graphic glitch related to
using the camera in Hardware Mode: when you deploy the
camera, any rain or falling snow will disappear from every
view but the camera's view. We're looking into it.
