CanScot is about my family, my heritage and to a lesser extent, my life.

As you have guessed, I am Canadian,  born in St. Paul's Hospital in the heart of  Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  The most beautiful of all Provinces and magnificently captured by Maurice Jassak

In answer to those who asked me recently, it is my understanding that Stanley Park is actually bigger than Central Park by a couple of hundred acres but I personally never measured it.

I currently live in Rome, New York.  I say currently because I never seem to stay more than four years in one place.   Things always seem to draw me elsewhere.

Once an overworked, underpaid, insurance broker I decided to follow a dream and study computers.  I'm still at it...,broke, stressed most of the time...but still interested.

I can't help question everything, and  need to know "why"  to even the most basic question.  I tend toward brute force when it comes to computers - learn mostly by experience and embrace the fact that while things do change, history teaches you well. <history would be my second love and an equal fascination>.

I can be intense....but then no one promised me tomorrow.  Life is short.  Get your best jokes in while you remember them, learn, talk to people, understand "why"...and debate it all.  "Live with principle"....that is a motto I take to heart.  It costs you in a short term,...but you always sleep well at night.  Salut!
