Julie has been employed with BOCES for 20 years.  Her first 13 years were spent in the Business Office where she performed a variety of duties.  She was the Health Insurance Clerk for 12 years, prepared the Payroll for a component school district for 1 year and backed up the Payroll Clerk for 2 years.  When she began at BOCES she worked in Accounts Payable.  Her final duties in the Business Office were in Accounts Receivable.  She was responsible for billing our component school district and other various agencies for services they purchased.  In 2000 she moved across the parking lot to the Bohlen Technical Center and became the Financial Aid Officer for the Practical Nursing Program.  She also collects and maintain data for our High School Career and Technical students and those students enrolled in our GED and ESOL programs, filing various reports at the State and Federal Government level.  Additionally, she has created many databases that she uses to track the adult student populations tuition and attendance and she created an employee attendance database that is used in both the Bohlen Technical Center and the Howard G. Sackets Technical Center.

Since the union began in 1997, Julie has held the office of secretary, 1st Vice President and President.  She looks forward to serving you for the next two years.

Liz has been employed with BOCES for 11 years.  She was hired as a teacher assistant for the Adult Practical Nursing program and worked in the Adult Learning Center for a number of years.  Liz later became a typist when Sue Swensen retired and at that time she was moved into the Main Office in the Bohlen Technical Center.  Liz is the first point of contact for, students, staff, parents and visitors.  Liz has also been the editor of the New York State Association of Educational Office Professionals newsletter for a number of years.

Liz has been Vice President since 2005 and in April '07 both she and Linda Winiarski stepped in as co-president's when Kathy Revelle resigned that position after accepting a job at Sackets Harbor Central School.

Deb has been employed with BOCES for over 4 years and works in the Business Office.  Deb worked in accounts payable - general fund until recently.  She now works in Special Aid Funds, Workers Compensation, Dental/Vision Reimbursement and Incarcerated Youth

Deb has been the treasurer of the union since 2005.

Melissa has worked for BOCES for 13 years.  She part-time as the Adult Education evening secretary while attending Utica School of Commerce  where she received her Associates Degree.  Melissa worked as the School Library System secretary (under Angus Saunders) for approximately two years then moved over to the Career and Technical office as secretary upon Carrie Walker’s retirement.  She is currently the secretary to Paul Mooney (HGSTC Principal) and Kevin Widrick (Work Based Learning Coordinator).

Melissa has been the secretary of the union since October 2003.
