- Our Squadron Commander -

Col. Thomas O. Rader

While assigned as our Squadron Commander, Lt.Col. Rader was promoted to full Colonel in 1963. He then transferred from Loring to join the SAC IG team. After two additional assignments he retired in 1971.

The 42nd AEMS Veteran's Web Site is dedicated to all Officers, Non-Commissoned Officers, and Airmen who served with the 42nd Armament and Electronics Maintenance Squadron at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine. Each discharged their Strategic Air Command duties honorably, supervising and performing maintenance and upgrades on B-52G bomber and KC-135A tanker electronic systems, thereby securing peace through continuous and successful mission accomplishment. All were committed to the SAC motto "Peace is Our Profession" and are truly "Pioneers in Peace."
