More movies I've seen recently...

• Sideways -- Why do guys have to be such dicks? God bless the losers.
• Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow -- Remember when you first saw Star Wars? Just shut of your brain and enjoy!
• Shrek 2 -- Fun, but tries a bit too hard. Eddie Murphy is still tiresome.
• Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban -- Visually stunning, but with some incredible blunders (e.g.pumpkins in the spring). Is the magic beginning to fade?
• Two Brothers -- All together now: Awwww....
• Lost in Translation -- Poignant and funny; two people who desperately need to connect... and can't.
• Millennium Actress -- Sort-of-a Citizen Kane meets Sunset Boulevard with a touch of Maltese Falcon.
• The Triplets of Belleville (aka Belleville Rendez-Vous) -- Utterly unpredictable and amazing animation. Frogs, anyone?
• Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King -- Well, he's back. Go see it!
• Thirteen -- Intense. Disturbing. There are no easy answers, I guess.
• Brother Bear -- "That's what furry is all about, Charlie Brown."
• American Splendor -- I'd never heard of Harvey Pekar before. Wish I had.
• Laputa: Castle in the Sky (DVD) -- Another Miyazaki masterpiece. (Aren't they all?) Amazing chase sequences and mechanical animation. Without using CGI. Yow.
• A Mighty Wind -- Brilliant! Christopher Guest is probably one of the most underrated comedy directors. Wonder what he'd do with furry/comics fandom?
• Finding Nemo -- I've been a fan of Albert Brooks since the '70s (or the '40s, if you count his prenatal work).
• The Lion King (IMAX) -- Whohoo! Great seeing another of my favorite movies on IMAX!
• Star Trek: Nemesis -- Downloaded it with BitTorrent. Wasn't worth the disk space.
• The Two Towers -- Gorgeous. Stunning. I'm glad we have to wait only a year for The Return of the King!
• Treasure Planet -- Saw it on IMAX. Enjoyable adventure, unfortunately underrated; shows how bad marketing can ruin a film's chances.
• Spirited Away -- Miyazaki's masterpiece, not Madonna's miscarriage! Go see it!
• Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets -- Wow! Although, I was disappointed that they didn't have better cat makeup for Hermione.
• My Big Fat Greek Wedding -- Absolutely charming!
• The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys -- Intense.
• Y Tu Mama Tambien -- Very sweet and poignant, a film with heart, unfortunately overlooked in the reviews that focus on the sex.
• Blue Crush -- Incredible cinematography!
• Metropolis -- The anime based on Osamu Tezuka's manga. Nice soundtrack!
• Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones -- I laughed, I cried, I kissed eight bucks goodbye.
• Lilo & Stitch -- Great story! Not committee'd to death like so many other recent Disney product. <cough>Atlantis</cough>
• Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron -- A nice effort, falls a little short. At least it wasn't a musical.
• Beauty and the Beast (IMAX) -- A sentimental favorite, great to see on the big big screen!
• Ice Age -- Well done! Great characters, fun story.
• The Fellowship of the Ring -- Gorgeous. Stunning. I'm glad we have to wait only a year for The Two Towers!
• Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone -- The previews got me to read the books before the film came out.
• Monsters Inc. -- Wonderfully done!
• Ghost World -- Substitute comics for 78s and I could be Seymour. All I need to do is meet a sexy angsty teenager. But is the passion worth the grief?
• Planet of the Apes -- Okay, so I didn't really enjoy it. But I spent my $1.50 (second-run theatre) so I'll list it.
• Cats & Dogs -- If cats had to be the bad guys, at least they're cool. "I think not, baby puppy. It is you who are in trouble."
• Atlantis: The Lost Empire -- Nice to look at, though character designs are a bit weird. But Kida's hot.
• Shrek -- A riot! Love the inside jokes, though Eddie Murphy gets a bit tiresome.

• Princess Mononoke -- Wow. Saw it 3 times while it was in local theatres. Bought the DVD before I had a DVD player.
