This page is meant to be more of a help for those who go camping with their rv's rather then tents. nothing against tenting, I just don't camp in tents anymore. Watch out for low hanging branches or building overhangs. You don't need to replace all of your roof top components before you need to. pay attention to bridge height signs and make sure you know how tall yours is. Watch out for the tail swing on your RV if the back extends out past the rear axle more than a few feet Take your RV out to the flying field if there is a lack of accommodations, it will supply you with everything you need to enjoy a day of flying, shelter, bathroom facilities, power to charge batteries and a place to relax and rest if needed, if yours doesn't have a generator and you need regular A/C power bring along a small power inverter to power your chargers and what not. CAMPER SUPPLIES TP -Toilet paper, you need to make sure that the toilet paper you use is compatible with RV holding tanks. One way to check is take a half full glass of water and put a couple of sheets of RV rated TP in it, cover the top and shake. The TP should dissolve quickly. If it doesn't find a different brand that does so as not to clog your holding tanks. Water conservation If you find yourself in the same boat as me when it comes to camping, meaning a wife and three children (all girls), you'll find yourself in a constant struggle to conserve water and black tank space, because we all know how much girls like not using the toilet like boys do. I haven't found the answer to that one besides go camping where you have full hookups unless you want to invest in a extra waste tank.

One of the things that I
found to be best when first starting to camp (for the first time or with
new equipment or people) is to camp close to home. That way if anything
doesn't work out right or mal functions it's not far from home.
Learn as much as you can about the working of your RV before taking it out. There's nothing like trying to figure it out when you need to have it NOW. Don't forget to check the air pressure in your tires on a regular basis.
Support your local Boy Scout troop. Extra sleeping space Take a piece of plywood and cut it to fit over the front seat cushion if you need to cut a couple of board to make legs to level it out, you can add a hinge in the center for easier transport and storage. This idea lends itself well to class C motor homes, you set the board up and then you can put the babies port a crib on it, close the front curtains around the windows and pull the privacy curtains closed for the front bunk closed and you now have an area of privacy for your infant. Boon docking I recently went camping in Canada way out in the middle of nowhere. I found that I was over prepared in some areas and now quite enough in others. My camper doesn't have a generator so I have an extra battery in my auxiliary battery set up, which provided me with all the battery power for the 4 nights that I was out there. However I found that my water was running short, if I had stayed for an extra day I would have ran out, my camper holds about 32 gallons of water. Next time I'll carry an extra 15 gallons or so to compliment my water tank capacity. I also found that I spent less time in it than I thought I would, worked out that if I wasn't fishing I was sleeping, so I didn't need that much in the way of lights and amenities.
