“A Night in Africa”

October 15, 2008

7:00PM – 8:00PM        RCS Cafeteria

We are pleased to have Sue Hanson, Coordinator of CROP WALK 2008 show us her beautiful film of her trip to Africa to kick-off our participation in this yearly event to help “stomp out hunger.”  We are asking you and your family to attend our PTG Event and bring a can or cans of non-perishable food items to be donated to the Rome Area Food Coalition.
We will collect your donation at the door
.

The CROP WALK will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church on October 26, 2008.  It is a tradition for schools in the area to participate by walking or entering a poster contest for all ages.  More details on that to follow at our meeting.

Please plan on attending our PTG Event!

WE'RE HAVING A CONTEST

RCS is having a contest! Mrs. Jacques has offered our students a challenge. The homeroom that collects the most Box Tops or Campbell’s Labels for Education UPC’s by December 1, 2008 will receive a free pizza party! One homeroom will win a party for Box Tops and one will win for Campbell’s.

Our school will earn $.10 cash for each box top & 1 or 5 points per each specially marked Campbell’s UPC’s towards free educational products. You can help by simply sending these items to school with your Child to be deposited in their homeroom for credit towards the contest. The UPC’s and Box Tops will be counted on a monthly basis and a running count will be kept. Each class will know their status in the challenge and can keep track of their progress.

This is an easy way to support RCS and provide a fun, rewarding challenge to our students. Start clipping today!

RCS is still recycling empty ink jet and laser printer cartridges and we are also recycling cell phones.

Empties and phones may be left in the main office or, if you have many, please call the school to arrange for a pick-up.  Thank you to all of those individuals and businesses who have helped us in our recycling and environmental efforts to date!
