My name is Bill Schickling. I own two 1940 Chevy trucks. One is a 1/2 ton and one is a 3/4 ton. This is a Web Page dedicated to preserving information about the 1939 and 1940 Chevrolet Pickup Truck. A set of Chevrolet trucks that get overlooked, but really are the trucks that begin the seperate truck and car styling that is really apparent after 1940. The Chevrolet script you see in the header is from a digital image of the script on the tailgate of 1939 and 1940 pickups. I thought I would start this web page because there are plenty of sites about Art Deco, Advance Design and Task Force trucks, but very few about the early trucks. I happen to think the 39 and 40 are the best looking Chevy Trucks ever produced. I have tried to include as many pictures as I could find regarding these trucks. If your truck is pictured here and you don't want it in the Gallery section please email me by clicking on the Contact Link above. **3/23/05 - I drew a picture of what I want my truck to look like. It will be Black with chrome windshield, hood hinge, headlight and turn signal buckets and handles. Flames similar to the ones I've drawn. I will find someone that knows what they are doing to really put flames on the truck. The wheels are Wheels Vintique's artillery billet wheels. I haven't decided whether to have the centers painted or left chrome. The picture shows them painted.

to read about some projects related to the rebuild (accessories,
wheels, etc...) These pages are still under construction and I will update it every so often. I have started the rebuild of my 1/2 ton and will include pictures once something significant happens. |
