Slab City
Biographies
Slab City, AKA Earlville, N.Y., was the
hometown of former Busco Bandits
band member Dan Wills. Dan built a recording studio there around 1985 and named
it Slab City Studios.
In the fall of 1988,
Dan and former The Edge musician
Steve Vanier from Malone, N.Y. were recording together and called a former band
mate of Steve to record with them.
Drummer Jeff Larche,
then from North Bangor, N.Y., joined the project and the three began playing
late after a recording session one evening.
What they heard that evening
had them literally bouncing off the walls. It was soon decided to find a forth
to complete what was developing into a new live act.
Former Ranch Riders lead guitarist Bill Jock
then from Plattsburg, N.Y. was called the next evening and the rest is history.
More
to come, as the stories get better with age.
