Materials to be brought to class Daily

Grading:

Grades will be calculated using points, that is your average is the total number of points you have earned divided by the total number of points.

The Exams Category includes both Tests and Quizzes, Class Work is done during class and handed in at the end of class. It is not to be taken home. Theses are graded. Homework is given daily and will include reading and note taking as we work our way through the book. The purpose of homework is to practice what you have learned in class, determine if you understood what was taught and to learn to use your text book as a resource. One point will be deducted from your class preparation grade if the homework is not completed.

Tests will be based upon your quizzes, class notes, daily reading and any class work.

Missing Graded work: You are responsible for knowing what work you will be missing and making up the work and arranging time with me to get help if it is needed.

 Missing Class

Class Preparation:

To be prepared for you class means you are to have spent at least 20 minutes studying and taking additional notes from your textbook and doing the homework. Plan on about 40 minutes each day for studying and completing assignments.

Class preparation points will be assigned each Marking period based upon the number of days in the Marking Period. That is each student will start out with the same number of points . Your challenge is to keep those points and not to loose any points because you have not come prepared to class. Coming prepared means you are in class on time, have your homework and all class materials and do not at any time disturb the learning teaching process, by talking etc.

It is your obligation to know what you are missing.  Work will not be accepted more then 1 class late and 1 point will be deducted for that late work. If you are absent due to illness then other arrangements will be made and we will determine the time line for you to make up the work.

IF YOU MISS A TEST a QUIZ or Class Work

If you miss a test or quiz because you are absent the day it is given, expect to take it the next day, preferably before school. Otherwise you will take the test, quiz, class work during class.  It is expected that you do all class work and the homework that was assigned. Since Class work is graded it is to be done with me, you will not  be given the class work to take home and complete, nor will it posted on the web site.  To maintain the integrity of tests/quizzes and Class Work it is necessary that you take them with me at a place that I can supervise you.

Ø      All tests are cumulative and you will be expected to know material from previous units.

Late to Class:

You should not becoming late to class as it disrupts class . Coming late is not acceptable . I start class immediately after the second bell. I suggest you already have your materials and do not stop off at your locker.

Expectations:

My expectations are as follows:

My Availability:

Preferably you set up a time to meet with me by e-mail or before homeroom.   I am teaching 4 different courses so it will be a juggling act with respect to after school help.  You can stop by anytime but realize you might have to Waite. DO NOT  try to schedule a time with me as you are walking into class as there is no time to do so before class. You deserve my attention and it can not be given in the chaotic interval between classes. It is your responsibility to get to school before   homeroom so you can see your teachers or to contact them via e-mail..It is important for me to be able to see what room is available for us to meet. Do not take it for granted that the room (s) I teach in will be available for us to meet in.

·           I am always available after school from 2:40 until 3:30 except on Wednesday's Make arrangements, before school, to meet  with me any of theses times because once the day starts often times other things have been planned. Feel free to just stop in and work on assignments
