FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) is offering several correspondence courses free of charge in an effort to help minimize the impact of disasters on the American public. These courses are structured to meet the needs of a diverse audience and can be accomplished online at http://www.fema.gov/emi/ishome.htm or through booklets obtained through the library. Once the coursework is completed, FEMA supplies a certificate of completion. Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland is partnering with FEMA to provide college credit for these courses at a fee of $60/credit for those interested.
