News & Events

  • Our Pre-school Story Hour runs from October through April. These events are held Thursday mornings from 10-10-45 A.M. at the Library for pre-schoolers and their parents. Join us for stories, snacks, and activities. The children have welcomed some new readers who have brought a fresh approach to story hour:

  • The library has the Dryden Rural News newspaper from its inception until it stopped publishing in the 70's.  This is a valuable research tool for the community and the schools, as well as just pure enjoyment to read about what was going on in the area in earlier days.  There are other earlier newspapers on file as well including the Rumsey Companion published in the 1800's. These are available on microfilm--come in and try out our new microfilm reader-printer-scanner to read up on Dryden in the "good ol' days."

  • Local Authors' books available at the Southworth Library:

  • The Southworth Library Association has established, with the help of two generous bequests, a building fund in the amount of $25,000.00.  A feasibility study was done in the fall of 2001 by Egner Associates. This study is available for review at the library. Donations are always welcomed.
